Dorothy M. Clancy

Dorothy M. Clancy, 91, of Ramey passed away Saturday, October 31, 2009 at Mt. Laurel Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Clearfield.

She was born on March 8, 1918 in Smoke Run a daughter of the late George and Julia (Raab) Clancy.

She was a lifetime member of the Smoke Run United Methodist Church where she served as Sunday School Superintendent for a number of years.

Miss. Clancy was a 1935 graduate of the Madera High School and a 1940 graduate of St. Luke's Children Hospital School of Nursing in Philadelphia.

She worked as a registered nurse at St. Luke's Children's Hospital and the Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia. She when transferred to the Chillicothe Veterans Hospital in Chillicothe, OH and retired in 1977, after 45 years as a Registered Nurse, from the James E. VanZant VA Medical Center Altoona, PA.

Miss. Clancy was a member of the Quota Club of Altoona.

She is survived by a number of nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by the following siblings; Helen Burns, Audrey Gross, Phyllis Reed, Ellsworth "Buff" Clancy, Floyd Clancy, John Clancy, Chester Clancy, Paul Clancy, and Everett "Midge" Clancy.

At the request of Miss. Clancy there will be no public visitation. A memorial service will be held Saturday, Nov. 14, 2009 at 11:00 AM at the Smoke Run United Methodist Church, Smoke Run, PA. Pastor Dennis L. McCracken will officiated. Interment will be made in the Beulah Cemetery, Ramey.
