Carol A. (Wargo) Popyack

Carol A. (Wargo) Popyack, 45, of Smithmill, passed away at 9:45 AM, Friday, November 20, 2009 at her residence.

Born on Aug. 8, 1964, in Philipsburg, the daughter of the late John E. "Jack" and Hazel M. (Tokarchik) Wargo.

Carol graduated from the Moshannon Valley High School in 1982 and from the Duquesne University, Pittsburgh in 1986 with a Bachelors Degree in International Business.

She was owner of Popyack Tax Service, Smithmill and was an insurance agent for Erie Insurance Company.

Carol was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Ramey and a former member of the Moshannon Valley PTA.

On Sept. 29, 1990 in Christ The King Catholic Church, Houtzdale she married Andrew M. Popyack who survives in Smithmill.

Carol is survived by her daughter, Jessica E. Popyack of Smithmill, her brother, Patrick Wargo of Ramey and an aunt, Dorothy M. "Aunt Dot" Tokarchik of Ginter.

Carol is also survived by her mother-in-law, Betty Popyack, and a sister -in-law and brother-in-law, Kathleen and Robert Hawkins of Smithmill. She is survived by a nephew Brian Hawkins and his wife Ivanna and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Friends will be received on Sunday, Nov. 22 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM and on Monday, Nov. 23 from 8:30 - 9:30 AM at the Kruise Funeral Home, Inc. Ramey. A Christian Wake Service will be held Sunday at 3:00 PM in the funeral home with Fr. Zab Amar officiating.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, November 23, 2009 at 10:00 AM in Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Ramey. Fr. Zab Amar will be the celebrant. Interment will follow in Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery, Ramey, PA.
