Donald D. Fyock, Sr
Mr. Donald D. Fyock, Sr, 76, of Atlantic, RD Houtzdale passed away Thursday, December 31, 2009 at his residence.
Born on Nov. 11, 1933 in Indiana, PA a son of the late William Spear Fyock and Beatrice P. (Bradley ) Fyock.
He worked as a heavy equipment operator for close to 50 years in the coal industry. He had work for the Benjamin Coal Co, K & J Coal Co and the Stott Coal Co. More recently he was working for B & B Major Auto Repair of Houztdale. He was a member of the Madera United Methodist Church.
On May 2, 1953 in Angola, Indiana he married the former Anna Marie Smarsh who survives of Atlantic. He is survived by 10 children; Donald D. Fyock, Jr and his wife Sherry of Houtzdale, William T. Fyock and his wife Sharon of Brisbin, Robert Fyock and his wife Kim of Smoke Run, Pastor Anna Marie Fyock of Catawissa, Alvin J. Fyock and his companion Kimmie of Scranton, Catherine "Kathy" Mann and her husband Lester of Bigler, Terri A. Baranchak and her husband Ronald of Madera, Cynthia "Cindy" Hazel and her husband Charles of Houtzdale, David J. Fyock of Scranton and Mark A. Fyock and his wife Kristy of Houtzdale.
He is also survived by 30 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
Mr. Fyock is survived by 3 sisters and 2 brothers; Dolores McCloskey and her husband Kenneth of Homer City, Anna Kochik and her husband Carl of Indiana. Edna Mae Mervine and her husband Ron of Homer City, Ronald Fyock and his wife Joann of Vintondale and Henry Fyock of Homer City.
Mr. Fyock was preceded in death by a son, Frank Fyock in 1989; a grandson, Donald D. Fyock, III on Sept. 9, 1984; four brothers and two sisters, Calvin Cresswell, Robert Cresswell, William Fyock, Grant Fyock, Virginia Martin and Minnie Sava.
Friends will be received on Sat., Jan. 2, from 2-4 and 7-9 PM and on Sunday, Jan. 3, from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM at the Kruise Funeral Home, Inc. Madera.
Funeral Services at 2:00 PM on Sunday, January 3, in the Kruise Funeral Home, Inc. , Madera with with the Rev. Robert Ford officiating.
