Theresa Delores (Kassab) Brennan
Theresa Delores (Kassab) Brennan, 79, of Brisbin, PA, died Thursday, January 7, 2010, at 3:25 AM at Clearfield Hospital.
Theresa was born in Houtzdale, PA, on August 30, 1930, to the late George and Julia (Abood) Kassab. On July 3, 1955, she married Martin M. Brennan of Janesville, who survives. The couple recently celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary.
Theresa was a 1948 graduate of the former Woodward Township High School and was a member of Christ The King Catholic Church in Houtzdale.
For over 20 years, she had worked for the United States Postal Service as the Post Master of the Brisbin post office. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas St. Victoria's Court #646, Houtzdale, Christ the King Rosary Altar Society and the National Association of Post Masters of the United States (NAPUS).
Theresa is survived by her three children, Julie Brennan, of Lock Haven, PA, Martin M. Brennan, Jr., and his wife Zolorest, of Huntersville, NC, and John P. Brennan, and his wife, Susan, of DuBois, PA. Theresa had four grandchildren, Zalinia M. Johnson, of Hickory, NC, M. Michael Brennan, III, of Huntersville, NC, and Riley R. and Kaylee A. Brennan of DuBois, PA.
She is also survived by one sister, Elizabeth Chew, and her husband, William, of DuBois, PA and four brothers, Gabriel Kassab, and his wife Gertrude, of Pittsburgh, PA, David Kassab, of Washington, D.C., G. Edward Kassab, and his wife, Jane, of Richmond, VA, and Raymond Kassab, and his wife Anna Marie, of Pittsburgh, PA, and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Betty Popyack, of Smithmill, PA, and Helen Kassab, of Pittsburgh, PA.
Theresa was preceded in death by her sisters, Hazel Kassab, Cecilia Remeselnick, Kathryn Hocking and Minnie Grove, her brother, Jacob Kassab, her brothers-in-law, Bert Remeselnick, Richard Hocking, Harold Grove, John Brennan, Thomas Brennan, Reuben Brennan, Matthew Belin, Andrew Popyack, Harold Faughner, Frank Gow, William Spiwak, and her sisters-in-law, Jane Belin, Lorraine "Brandy" Faughner, Kathryn Gow, Edith Spiwak, Barbara Brennan, Lillian Brennan, Sophia Brennan, Lillian Brennan, Margaret Brennan, and Delores Kassab.
Friends will be received at the Kruise Funeral Home in Ramey, PA, on Friday, January 8, 2010, from 6:00 - 8:00 PM and Saturday, January 9, 2010 from 11:00 AM - 12:30 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Christ The King Catholic Church in Houtzdale at 1:00 PM on Saturday, January 9, 2010, with The Very Rev. Father Gregory A. Kirsch as celebrant. The Catholic Daughters of the Americas will recite the Rosary at 6:00 PM in the funeral home on Friday.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations to Christ The King Catholic Church, Houtzdale, PA.
