Arthur E. Litzinger

Arthur E. Litzinger, 101, of Ridgeview Elder Care and Rehabilitation Center, Curwensville and formerly of RD Madera and Olanta, passed away at 12:45 AM, Wednesday, February 10, 2010 at the center.

He was born on Sept. 9, 1908 in Patton a son of the late Bernard and Gertrude (McConnell) Litzinger.

Mr. Litzinger worked as a coal miner and as a sawyer.

He is survived by 6 daughters and two sons; Barbara Auberzinski and her husband Martin of Gallitzen, Vivian Madera and her husband Charles of Grampian, Betty Templeton and her companion Richard Mosley of RD Madera, Rose Quick and her husband Ozzie of Moshannon , Lorey Miller and her husband Kevin of Shawville, Dot Litzinger and her companion Marvin Hockenberry of Philipsburg, Joseph Litzinger of Madera and Richard Litzinger of RD Madera.

He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

A sister, Rose Selfridge of Patton survives as well as a number of nieces and nephews.

Mr. Litzinger was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Mary E. (Nisewonger) Litzinger on Jan. 24, 1976; his companion, Nellie McCracken; 4 sons, William Litzinger, Jessie Litzinger, Thomas Litzinger and Arthur "Rudy" Litzinger; a grandson, Michael and 12 brothers and sisters; Ward Litzinger, Bern Litzinger, Lou Litzinger, Albert "Sonny" Litzinger, Elmer Litzinger, Gene Litzinger, John Litzinger, Florence Dascanio, Thelma Kelly, Susan Williams, Kathryn Burkhart and Marie Litzinger.

Friends will be received on Sunday, Feb. 14, from 2-4 and 7-9 PM and on Monday, Feb. 15 from 9-11 AM in the Kruise Funeral Home, Inc. Madera

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, Feb. 15 at 11:00 AM in the Kruise Funeral Homes, Inc., Madera, PA, with Fr. Zab Amar officiating.
